IndiaTVGuide version number 1.2 on BlackBerry was showing some errors. Users were not able to download data. App used to show error message like " unable to download data. Error Code 302 ". We have fixed this issue. So do download the new version and yes give us your feedback.

Since the launch of videos & Movies on IndiaTVGuide on April 5th its been exciting. It is really good to see that people from Pakistan, Singapore have joined us and really making use of the platform.
Apart from the initial lot of movies over the weekend we have added:
Aseema
Aseema - Beyond Boundaries is a maiden project by KJ Dream Ventures. The film is based on the acclaimed Oriya novel 'Aseema' written by the noted Oriya poet and novelist Sailaja Kumari Aparajita Mohanty and is the story of a young woman played by Gracy Singh. The film takes you through her journey of life as she displays the strength of her character by sheer resilience and conviction in order to achieve all her goals single-handedly, thereby creating her own identity in the society.

The Comedy ' movie Hello' about what happens when God calls at a call center one night. It has Salman Khan in a guest appearance.

Watch ‘Touch’ on Star World

Wow, just finished watching an exciting serial 'Touch' on Star World. I must confess though that the name didn't excite me enough to watch it, but am glad that I was able to catch the promo. Although I didn't set a reminder, I did manage to catch it. Missed couple of minutes at the starting but it did make sense in the end. Although I still need to understand couple of points. It was good. Its a winner. Its about this kid who is communicating to his father through numbers and how his father saves the day. Ohh you need to watch it, I never will be able to make justice to it. Since I am on Star World let me say that Desperate Housewives is on its final season being a faithful follower am looking at all the loose ends to be tied and find out who was blackmailing Mary Alice. Thanks for bringing back 'Castle'

Lets move onto one of its competition here in India Zee Cafe, do let me know what you think of 'Raising the Bar' a legal drama, although it does remind me of some other legal dramas like 'Boston legal' and 'Practice'- I somehow don't feel its in same league. All in all am glad that 'comedy channel' has launched in India. It has brought back Seinfeld, the funny Kelly Ripa from Hope & Faith. Coupling is interesting too but am not a fan of toilet humour.

This audience can have a passive role, as in the case of a play, a show on a TV or a movie, or active, as in the case of a video game". But here at JiniLabs for us its just one word IndiaTVGuide. Not only does it allow you to plan your weekends around any important show but will now allow you to watch it through youtube. So you are never far away from your fave show.

Today by adding a new feature we have brought you one step closer to your entertainment needs. Yes people, we have launched the Video on Demand feature on the app. It lets you watch movies/TV serials/Short films/Video Albums- of course with ads or we will let you watch it without ads once you start paying for it. Remember there is no free meal. Its very simple. Log into IndiaTVGuide select Videos and then watch the movies. We are on iPhone and Android.

Survivor: South Pacific premiers on BIG CBS PRIME

Mumbai, 4th January, 2012: BIG CBS Prime, the channel with the latest and newest shows on TV catering to the urban male is back with the 23rd season of the fantastic series Survivor. Premiering January 9th Survivor: South Pacific will be aired Monday through Thursday at 9.00 p.m.

The season was filmed in the vicinity of Upolu, Samoa, where the 18 castaways will be divided into two Tribes of nine: the Savaii Tribe and the Upolu Tribe, named after the two islands of Samoa. The “Redemption Island” twist makes a comeback in this latest season of the show.

Last season, on Survivor: Redemption Island, players who were voted out were sent to Redemption Island to live in exile and participate in one-on-one duels. The winner of each duel earned the opportunity to continue fighting for a chance to return to the game and to compete for the title of Sole Survivor; the loser was sent home. The winner of each duel earns the opportunity to continue fighting for a chance to return into the game and be able to compete for the title of Sole Survivor; the loser is sent home.

The tribes are made up of individual from all walks of life, who are all out to achieve the same objective, to be the Sole Survivor. While 16 of the contestants are new to the competition, two are former castaways who will be given another chance to compete for the million dollar prize. This season, the new castaways are joined by returning contestants, Oscar “Ozzy” Lusth and Benjamin “Coach” Wade.

HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN is a comedy about the unlikely friendship between a traditional, refined writer and an unrefined personal trainer. Andrew Carlson is an etiquette columnist whose devotion to ideals from a more civilized time has lead to a life detached from modern society. Infectiously optimistic, Bert Lansing is a reformed "bad boy" from Andrew's past who inherited a fitness center, but can still be rude, loud and sloppy. When Andrew's editor, Jerry, tells him to put a modern, sexy twist on his column or be fired, he hires Bert as a life coach in the hopes of learning to be less "gentle man" and more "real man." Andrew's mom, Diane, and his bossy sister, Janet, support the plan, as would Janet's husband, Mike, if he was allowed to have an opinion. Though Andrew and Bert's views may be centuries apart, they may find they're each other's missing link.

Jinilabs released version 1.6 India TV Guide for iPhone and iPod with following new features:

- Tweets posted for a program
You can see the tweets posted for a particular program. For example you do not have to log-in to twitter to see the tweets about Big Boss, you can see the tweets for Big Boss in India TV Guide directly as shown below in images.

- Channel filtering based on languages.
Now you can filter channels by setting the languages in the language setting screen.So you can only see your favorite language channels by filtering other channels by clicking on language filter button on top right of channel listing screen as shown in the picture below.

- Refreshing the program schedule
Now you can refresh the program schedule whenever you want by clicking on the refresh button which is there on top right of home screen as shown below.

Services used in India TV Guide – Android

We can probably see 2 or probably 3 services running in the background in India TV Guide application.

HttpService starts whenever data is being fetched from the server. This service runs until the data is downloaded and stops running once the data is fetched.

WidgetProvider$Update service keeps on running in the background if India TV Guide widget is open as it has to update the program details. If you don't want this service to run, remove the widget from home screen.

PushService is always running to handle push notifications, the notifications that are received by your device, in case any information related to the application is sent. It uses relatively small amount of memory and consumes less battery.

Features included in this release:

2. Move application to external storage(Sd card)

By default, application will be installed in phone memory. To move it to Sd card - Go to Settings -> Application -> Manage Application -> India TV Guide -> Move to Sd card. If the application is moved to Sd card, widgets won't be displayed. In case the application is switched to phone memory, restart the device to view the widgets in home screen.

3. Watch Youtube movies

Watch youtube movies on Youtube or browser.

4. Favorite channel on top of Youtube video list.
